TM 02 NE LITTLE BROMLEY SHOP ROAD

3/109 Newhouse Farmhouse

GV II

House. C18 of possibly earlier origin with later alterations and additions,
including a rear wing. Timber framed, ashlar lined plaster. Grey slate double
range roofs, moulded soffits to end gables. Right and left chimneystacks. 2
storeys and attics. Parapet, cornice band. 3 window range of small paned
vertically sliding sashes. The fine formerly central doorway has been moved to
the left return and is approached by steps, the round headed arch with reveal
panels, half columns with moulded capitals and bases, moulded frieze, dentilled
cornice and pediment, 6 panelled door, round headed light with tracery over. 2
window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes, the upper with round
heads, single gable window. The rear wing probably a former bakehouse/kitchen
has chamfered bridging joists. Fire surround with moulded soffit to shelf.
Various panelled doors and surrounds, moulded fire surrounds, moulded cornices
and panelled shutters throughout the house.
