5/45 Walnut Cottage

18.2.87 II

Cottage. C16/C17 with C18 and C20 additions and alterations. Circa 1930
restorations by Grace Faithfull Roper. Timber framed and plastered. Red plain
tiled roofs, gambrelled crosswing to right, rear extension. Red brick chimney
stack, off centre right of main range and rear of right crosswing. One storey
and attics. Gabled dormer to left range. 1:1 window range of 3 and 4 light
leaded casements. Lean-to porch to left return of crosswing, moulded doorway
and door of old timber. Interior features include chamfered bridging joists,
some exposed timber frame, C18 corner cupboard.
