TN51NW LITTLE HALLINGBURY

5/58 Little Hallingbury Park

GV II

House, C16-C20, Restored after fire in 1982. There is a 2 range Timber framed
and plastered building with feature gable and projecting crosswing with C20
extensions to rear and a lean-to at front left. 2 storeys with red plain
tile roof and C20 ornate moulded red brick chimney with 2 octagonal shafts.
Heavy timber framing with moulded and stop chamfered beams, ovolo mullions in
some rooms. A good early C18 staircase, good C16, C17 and C18 fireplaces,
added carved grotesque brackets to some wall posts and 2 arched openings of
at present unknown purpose, show this to be a building of very high quality.
