Gatehouse, cartlodge and outbuildings. C15 or earlier. Timber framed with
mixture of roofing materials. The gatehouse is a tall, open structure with a
peg tile roof. Beneath this is an original floor with centre tennoned floor
joists and a spine beam supported on brackets. The roof/loft, has pigeon
nesting boxes of clay. To the north east of this is a long range with a gabled
asbestos roof and rendered walls. This is of late medieval timber framing with
jowled posts, a number of old door openings and rebuilt roof. To the south west
of the gatehouse is another long range with half hipped peg tile roof and
rendered walling. Joined to its south west corner is a cartlodge with peg tile
roof and walls of gault and red brick. Moated site. RCHM 10.
