House. C15. Timber framed and plastered with clay machine-made roof tiles. Of
T plan form with single aisled hall now of one storey and attics and 2 storey
crosswing at south end. This was formerly jettied and has a half-hipped end on
the front. The rear of its roof was formerly hipped with a gablet but is now
connected to a large C20 2 storeyed extension. The front of the hall roof has 2
gabled dormers and its north end is gabled where there is a single storey C20
extension with a gabled peg tile roof. Small north gable wall stack and modern
stack against south flank or crosswing. Windows are C20 timber casements with
central horizontal glazing bars. The crosswing has soffit tennoned floor
joists, large arch bracing on the wall facing the hall, jowled posts and
cambered tie beam. Some remnants of diamond mullioned windows survive here and
in the back wall of the aisle.
