Listing Text

TL 52 SE 9/22 Little Coopers Cottage
Possibly C15. Small 3 bay open hall, with first floors inserted and roof raised
in C16 or early C17. Timber framed and plastered, with thatched half hipped
roof. Three window range, modern casements with glazing bars, circa 1600 red
brick chimney stack, rebuilt at top in C19. Primary and secondary wall bracing,
wide spaced studs. Stop chamfered bridging joists. Halved and bladed top plate
scarf with bridled abuttments. A rare example of a very modest late medieval
house type.
