House, C17 and earlier, 2 storeys and timber framed and plastered. Crosswing at west
end, jettied to the front with unusual roof with hips and gablets at both back and
front. 3 bay main block, with small gable over crosswing and gable over hipped end
to the E. Roofs are peg tiled, with an off-centred C17 stack with 4 diagonal shafts.
2 doors in front elevation and a mixture of C19 casements with small panes. Interior
reveals inglenook fireplace with oven, o.i. oven door and heatstone. Roof contained
soot blocked, crown post type rafters of an earlier hall house. Crosswing has rough
central tenons, cut in poor second-hand timber. Rear room of crosswing has 2 diamond
mullion windows with original shutters in-situ. Halved bladed scarf joints in top
plate. (RCHM 17).
