Cottage, early C17. Single storey and attics, timber framed and plastered, former
small hall-house. Thatched roof, gabled at W and hipped down over W end. Front has
3 eyebrow dormers, C20 leaded light casements and C20 lean-to porch. 2 ridge line
red brick stacks and large C20 extension at W end. Interior displays inglenook fire-
place, hall open to roof, jowled posts and serpentine brace in service wall. Truss
over hall is unusual, of 'raised tie-beam' form and side purlins have curved wind
bracing. Scarf joints are halved and bladed.
