Late C14 house of high quality, with C18 alterations and facade. Timber framed
and plastered, with grey slate and red plain tile roof. 3 storeys. 3 window range
double hung vertical sliding sashes with glazing bars. Those on first floor have
side lights. Central door at first floor has moulded segmental head. First floor
balcony with iron balustrading, above ground floor bow windows. Ground floor doors
have flat hoods, on brackets and pilasters. Door at north west end is C18 six
panels. Modillioned eaves cornice. Internally much of the original frame remains,
with jowled storey posts, cambered tie beams and four braced crown post roof.
Extensive C16 and C17 wall paintings.
