Late C18 house, with early C19 alterations. Timber framed and plastered, with red
plain tile roof. 2 storeys and cellars. 3 window range, double hung vertical
sliding sashes with glazing bars. Ground floor windows have side lights, and are
glazed in margins. Band. Central entrance has pilasters and ornamental semi-
circular fanlight. 6 panel door, with flight of steps and handrails. Original
detailing remains internally. Former residence of composer Gustav Holst.
