House, former public house. C16 with C17 and later alterations including
restoration in C20 after a fire. Timber framed and plastered H plan with gabled
crosswings to right and left. The left crosswing is outshot to left. Red plain
tiled roof with central gabled dormer. 2 storeys and cellar. 3 range of 3
light casement windows. Off-centre C20 enclosed gabled porch with C20 panelled
door. One off-centre and one external red brick chimney stack. Recorded as
a public house, 1715. RCHM 13.
