Powder magazine. 1852-3. Stock brick, stone dressings and bitumen roof. Square plan with lean-to porch to E containing C20 iron door facing N. EXTERIOR: position of 3 cast-iron ventilator grills, some with wooden shutters, on 2 sides, indicates cavity wall and solid vault. Blocked opening in W wall. Low-pitched hipped roof. INTERIOR: not inspected. HISTORY: One of only 2 surviving magazines at the Establishment and one of the first brick buildings built there. Included as a important functional element within the British School of Gunnery.
