House of medieval origin. The present structure appears to date from C17/C18
with C19 plastered brick front range. Rear range timber framed and plastered.
Red plain tiled roofs. Rear centre red brick chimney stack. 2 storey front
range. One storey and attics rear range. Front range, red brick rusticated
quoins and moulded eaves cornice. 3 window range of vertically sliding sashes
with glazing bars, labels over. Red tiled gabled porch, panelled door to rear
of right return. Rear range rooms with central bridging joists and some storey
posts visible. C19/C20 heavy vine mouldings to bridging joist and cornice in
ground floor room. Coved ceilings to ground and first floor. The site of one
of the manors held by Sweyne in this Parish, later assigned by Henry VIII to
Anne of Cleves. RCHM 4.
