House of several builds. C16 or earlier hall house with C17, C18 and later
alterations and additions, circa 1803 front range. South face. Timber framed
and plastered. Red plain tiled roof with ornate eaves pelmet. Large rear red
brick chimney stack, restored right external stack. 2 storeys. 3 window range
of small paned vertically sliding sashes, tripartite to ground floor right.
Central gabled trellis porch with side seats. Part glazed door, moulded
surround. Left C19 single storey range with grey slate roof and single window.
The older rear ranges of several builds, dormer to rear left range. Round
headed window to rear right range and old pargetting to part of rear wall, also
iron gutter brackets. Internally there is a very large chimney stack in the old
building, now blocked. It is believed the hall roof was raised 1670. There is
some exposed timber frame and a moulded and carved jowled storey post in the
kitchen. Heavy cambered tie beam to bedroom. Some early doors with IL hinges
and ironmongery. Fine wreathed handrail to open well stick baluster staircase.
