SO 71 NE CHURCHAM BULLEY

11/12 Simmons monument, in churchyard,
about 5.5m south of porch,
Church of St. Michael

GV II

Chest tomb: late C18: stone. Flat top, moulded edge, corners
slightly indented on long faces. Frieze below, on sides alternate
plain and fluted sections, on ends alternate paterae and fluting.
Main face raised frame to retangular panel, egg and dart moulding.
Ends pilaster: to west stem faced with raised circle, with swelling
centre, to east sunken panel with urn in relief. All on moulded
base. Inscriptions to Thomas Drew, died 177-, Jane Simmons, 1783.
