7/66 Barn at Normans Farm

Barn; early C17; timber-framed, clad weatherboarding, a little
brick nogging low down, on low stone plinth, tiled roof. Three-
bay. Double doors set centrally, rise to eaves: replaced with
corrugated iron. Left return small opening left in gable. Exposed
rafter eaves, roof hipped above upper purlins.
Internally, framing 4 panels high, studs thicker than rails. Main
posts jowelled, braces up to tie-beam. Trusses have collar and
curved angle struts: 2 pairs purlins, ridge originally square,
replaced with plank. Gable truss built up with vertical struts,
like wall. Timber lean-to to left gable not of special interest.
