Large house; late C17 or early C18, extended 1871 (datestone).
Irregular Flemish bond, dark brown brick to older part, tiled roof.
Main block, 3 windows wide, cross wing 2 windows to end,
effectively 'L' plan: enlarged at rear. Main wing left, sash
window left end, flat rubbed-brick arch: towards right half-glazed
door, thick glazing bars, 2 fielded panels; semi-circular heads to
3 panes in fanlight, all in moulded surround, with projecting flat
head on shaped brackets. Projection for chimney immediately to
right, narrow sash window beyond, as first. Marked projection for
cross wing, 2 French doors, with 2 lights over, under flat, rubbed-
brick arches. Beyond a single-storey projection, canted end,
battlemented top. First floor: plain brick string course; sash
windows with rubbed brick arches on left and over door, narrow in
corner by chimney and 2 in projecting wing: further sash at
intermediate level between door and first window, 12-pane sashes
with wide glazing bars. Modillion eaves cornice: hipped roof with
lead hips; plain chimney on base and in centre of cross wing,
rising from eaves. Two gabled dormers on main wing, further on
hipped end, 12-pane centre-pivot windows. Hipped dormers with
moulded eaves an right return. Interior not inspected.
