Farmhouse: late C16, or early C17, extended C17, altered late C19.
Brick-nogged timber framing, rendered brick wall to ground floor,
tiled roof. Seven-bay building, one room deep, 2 storeys.
Single-bay timber-framed extension on right; boarded door. To
left wall to ground floor replaced rendered brickwork: two 3-light
casement windows, iron opening lights, boarded door between off
centre to left, all flat heads. Single-bay timber-framed
extension to left; single-storey gabled brick extension beyond.
First floor: wallplate to right extension slightly lower than main
block; main post repeats original on left, 2-light casement.
Original section two 2-light casement windows: straight brace
bressumer to main post one bay in on right, at original end on
left. Two-light casement in extension on left. Roof half-hipped
each end, brick chimney on ridge to right of front door. Rear
wall rebuilt in brick late C19.
Internally, in original central 5-bay section, on left ground
floor ceiling quartered by main beams, exposed chamfered ceiling
joists. On right ceiling divided into 6 by heavy beams: panelled
shutters: large chimney base. Main posts jowelled first floor:
cambered tie-beam to intermediate truss in right half; collar with
angled struts below: no ridge piece.
