Farmhouse: probably C15, altered C17 and C20. Timber-framed,
white-painted brick nogging on random-rubble stone plinth:
concrete roof tiles. Four bays, 1½ storeys. Entrance front, on
right framing 2 panels high: 2-light casement window, iron opening
light. Single section with 2 rails to left, boarded door beyond,
up 2 stone steps; 3-light metal window to lean-to dormer over.
To left 1984 two-light casement window in brick panel. Cambered
head to original entrance on left, blocked curved oven projection:
chimney on ridge above. Two-light casement window in lean-to
dormer on left; boarded door to left, with 4-pane window
adjoining. Gable chimney on left end outside main fabric. Right
return bottom covered lean-to weatherboarded timber-framed
extension: crucks exposed above, 2-light metal window in gable,
curved V struts over. Internally at least 2 cruck trusses, one
each side of central chimney. Room behind right-hand door moulded
beam to support floor over, exposed chamfered ceiling joists.
Interior of upper floor not inspected. Reported thatched until
1960's.
