7/246 Pound Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse; C17; timber-framed, brick nogging, brick plinth: left
gable rebuilt in English bond brickwork; tiled roof. Three-bay
1½ storey range, with single bay, 2 storey end; part lean-to on
back, otherwise 1 room deep. Facade facing road: on left framing
2 panels high; short section rebuilt in brick, containing 2-light
casement, cambered brick arch. To right main post, similar
window, in timber framed section: external chimney, small brick
lean-to. To right 2-light and 3-light casements, with opening
lights. Rendered lean-to garage beyond added 1984. First floor,
2-panel high framing to bay on left; right half brick replacement,
retaining main post and wallplate, 4-light casement window. Two-
light casement in gabled dormer to right, tall brick chimney to
external stack, further chimney from eaves to right of lean-to.
Right return timber-framed behind garage, also right gable of 2-
storey block. Entrance on back elevation. Wide, hollow chamfer
to exposed ceiling beam in room at left end; exposed beams in
ground floor ceilings at right-hand 2 rooms.
