CORSE GLOUCESTER ROAD
SO 7829-7929 (east side)
Farmhouse; early C19. Flemish bond brickwork, tiled roof; slate
to extension. Three-bay"front, 1½ rooms deep, 2 storeys: one
bay, 2-storey extension on end. Entrance front at right-angles to
road: 6-panelled front door, top 2 glazed, rest flush, under
hipped cantilevered porch on shaped struts, scalloped eaves. To
left 6-pane sash, stone sill (as all windows to front), rubbed
brick arch. To right canted single-storey hipped bay, 6-pane sash
centre. Extension to right, 12-pane sash, rubbed brick arch.
Above two 6-pane sashes, flat timber lintels: sash in extension.
Dentil eaves: roof to extension lower pitch. Brick chimney on
right gable of original house. Left return large projecting
chimney breast, 2 tiled slopes to stack rising from left ridge:
lean-to projection on left against gable, set back part way with
casement window: 3-light casement in end of lean-to against back
of house. Four-pane casement on left, first floor. Forms group
with Chartist cottages opposite, (q.v.).
