Small house: 1848 for the National Co-operative Land Company by F.
O'Connor. Later alterations. Painted brickwork on plinth: slate
roof: brick lower floor, weatherboarded upper with corrugated-iron
roof to attached farm building on left. Three-bay, single-storey
front, single-storey wing behind, to right, 2-storey, single-bay to
left. Centre bay projects slightly, gable over: fully-glazed C20
door, under flat rubbed brick arch: probably original narrow
single-light windows each side, small panes, head as door. Twin-
light C20 casement in each wing, head as door. Plain string course
to front of gable, slightly projecting brick course to verge: no
ventilator. Plain verge rafter on shaped corbel at foot. Slightly
projecting brick course to eaves of wings. Brick chimney on each
end gable and to rear in centre. Two-storey wing projects at rear
on left, gable to front: double boarded door to ground floor rear,
single boarded door over. Originally with 3-acre plot. Listed
principally for historical and sociological interest; forms group
with Prince of Wales Public House and other Chartist cottages
(q.v.).
