Small house: 1848 for the National Co-operative Land Company by F.
O'Connor. Rear rebuilt mid C20. Flemish bond brickwork, on
chamfered-topped stone plinth, slate roof: felt to rear. Three-
bay front, 2 room deep, single-storey. Slightly projecting gabled
centre bay: half-glazed front door up 3 stone steps, marginal-
lights to upper half, 2 flush panels below. Single-light small-
pane window each side. Single course plain brick string course at
foot of gable, stone quatrefoil ventilator, slightly projecting
brick course to verge. Plain verge rafters on shaped corbels at
foot. Either side a 2-light small-pane casement window: slightly
projecting brick eaves course. All openings original pattern,
rendered reveals; painted, flat rubbed brick arch over. Brick
chimneys at end gables corbel out slightly: centre rear chimney.
A good example, little altered to front. Listed principally for
historical and sociological interest; forms group with other
Chartist cottages (q.v.). Originally with 3-acre plot.
