Mill house. Late C17, extended C19, altered mid C20. Brick-nogged
timber-framing, 3 panels high in all; diamond-set asbestos slate:
right bay painted English garden wall bond brick, Welsh slate roof.
Four bays, one room deep, 2 storeys. Three timber-framed bays on
left: left end boarded door with glazed panel, 2-light casement
under weatherboard, shallow window to right with 4 diamond-set
bars, face fixed head and sill. To right 2-light casement and mid
C20 boarded door under slated lean-to open porch, of same date, 2
timber posts on stone bases. Brick end bay sets forward on right:
late C20 window under cambered brick arch. First floor four 2-
light casement windows to framed section: diagonal braces to main
posts to wallplate; no opening brick section: diamond-set brick
chimney right end of timber-framed section: brick flatter pitch
roof, brick chimney on right gable. Left return concrete block
wall when further bay reported demolished in 1930's. Heavy chamfer
to ground floor ceiling beam, entrance room: timber-framed
internal walls. Square cut jowls to main posts, queen strut
trusses over. Stone chimneybreast exposed first floor. Dated
timber in fireplace surround probably imported from elsewhere.
Left bay originally part of mill, with demolished section, rest
originally miller's house. Forms group with stables (q.v.).
