5/84 Stables, Farm Mill

GV II

Former stables, now workshop. Early to mid C18. Irregular bond
brickwork, tiled roof. Two bays, one room deep, 1½ storeys.
Paired boarded doors in centre, each with heavy timber frame, up 2
steps,cambered brick arch over. Two-light window at each end,
cambered brick arch, no sill, left now 2 large panes, right frame
survives, bricked up behind. Plain brick string course above,
stops short of ends: boarded door rising into lean-to dormer over
right door. On right gable, later random rubble lean-to, boarded
door on left, weatherboarded gable.
Internally 2 rooms, brick cross wall, interrupted tie beam truss,
one pair purlins, square ridge. Forms group with house (q.v.).
