DYMOCK THE VILLAGE

4/121 Wood's Cottage

House. Probably C15 or early C16, altered C18, C19, C20. Part
timber-framed, brick nogged, part Flemish-bond brickwork: rendered
extension on left. Thatched roof, multi-roll Bridgewater tiles;
double-roll concrete to lean-to. Two- or 3-bay, one room deep, 1½
storeys; one bay late C20 extension. Front, to street:
continuous lean-to verandah on 4 timber posts: Bridgewater tile
roof. Behind, single-light casement on right, boarded door, 2-
light casement, with glass tiles over in verandah roof; single-
light casement to left; boarded door under end of verandah, but
just beyond gable. Two-light iron casement in leanto across
gable. Apparently late C20 three-light casement in swept dormer.
Half-hip left return house; brick gable chimney. Right return
cruck exposed in gable; ground floor now all brick between blades,
with single-pane window: 2-light casement to first floor.
