6/164 The Ruin

II

Small house. Probably C17, altered C19, C20. Brick-nogged
timber framing on stone plinth, tiled roof. Three bays, one room
deep, 1½ storeys. Framing 2-panel high: eaves raised slightly,
with new wallplate above original. To right of centre gabled,
single-storey, timber-framed porch, half-glazed double doors. To
right single-light window, paired 2-light casement. To left 4-
pane window, external stone chimney breast, slight offsets low
down, tall, plain brick chimney above. To left two 2-light
casements together, wavy-edged boarding above. Half-glazed bay
against corner in angle with large external, stone chimney
projection: brick chimney above against gable. Two gabled
dormers, 2-light casements: large external chimney base right
return, brick chimney against gable. Weatherboarded lean-to in
angle in front.
