Cottage. 1848 by F.O'Connor for the National Co-operative Land
Company; later alterations. Monk bond brickwork on stone plinth;
slate roof. Three room front, one room deep, leanto rear, single
storey. Mid to late C20 door and windows to front, windows in
wings slightly wider than original; flat, rubbed brick arches to
each. Centre room projects slightly: fully-glazed door up one
step: single-light window each side. Plain string course to foot
of gable, returned up verge: quatrefoil vent in gable; plain verge
rafters on consoles at foot. Two-light casements in wings:
double oversailing brick course to eaves. Gable and centre rear
chimneys, gable ones slightly corbelled out. Originally with 2
acre holding: forms group with other Chartist cottages and school
(q.v.); listed principally for historical and sociological
interest.
