Cottage. 1848 by F O'Connor for the National Co-operative Land Company. Brick
walls, slate roof. Three-room front, one room deep, rear leanto, all single storey.
Front covered by creeper at time of survey (October 1985). Central room projects
slightly: half glazed door in centre up 2 stone steps, marginal lights to upper
half, 2 flush panels below; under hipped, leanto timber porch, trellis head to
opening, rest hidden. Single-light 8-pane casements each side; ventilator in gable
hidden, probably quatrefoil. Plain verge rafters. Two-light casements, each
casement 8-pane, in wings each side. Gable and centre rear chimneys. Probably
unaltered example; originally with 4 acre holding. Forms part of Chartist settle-
ment, listed principally for historical and sociological reasons.
