Probably C17; always shewn on old views of almshouses and church. Consists of 2 low
retaining walls with paved coping about 6 ft apart and bounding a paved hollow.
In centre of south side a rebate below coping for spring head (wooden plug attached
by chain). Stone bollard at each end on south side, 7 stone bollards on north side.
An interesting survival; interestingly by not aligned with lodge-gates.
