GV II
Barn and adjoining building. Late C17, first half C18. English-
bond brickwork to barn, brick-nogged timber framing to end. Six-
bay barn, off-centre porch one side, flanked later lean-tos;
lofted 2-bay extension at house end. Facade to house: plinth; 2
rows ventilation slits, staggered; double, boarded doors off-
centre to right; 4-pane window right end. Three-panel high
timber-framed end on right, boarded door, 2-light casement.
Weathervane on ridge left end, half-hip right. Interior C20 loft
on right, tie-beam trusses, collar and angle struts, one pair
purlins, square ridge to barn. Lean-to on left gable not of
special interest. Forms group with farmhouse and Elfstone Hollow
(q.v.).
