GV II*

C17, probably late; restored. Excellent compact double pile house in Cotswold
tradition. Two storeys and attics, coursed rubble, centre projecting in ashlar, also
ashlar parapets and gables. Three gables, the centre brought forward with one window
in returns, ball finials. Cornice strings at lintel height, dropped on ground floor
to level of door cornice. Mullioned windows with transoms on ground and 1st floors,
cornices to attic windows and rusticated bulls-eyes above. Central Tudor-arched
doorway with panelled spandrels and urn-stops, studded door; wrought-iron 'Y'-shaped
knocker. Stone tile roofs, coped verges, diagonal chimneys in ashlar with lozenges in
friezes below cornices, set at ends and in a group of 4 in centre. Hipped dormer
behind parapet to left of centre. No gables to west front, 3 dormers instead. Later
single storey and attic extension to North with stone slate roof and 4 gabled dormers,
ground floor window altered apart from a mullioned window in South gable.

Interior: restored staircase with heavy balusters.
