SP 1634 NW 9/19 BLOCKLEY WATERY LANE

The Old Mill

Late C17 origins. Remodelled later C19. L-plan domestic range to west, partly
ashlar, part squared rubble; machine-tile roofs with coped verges. Two storeys and
gable-lit attic; ashlar chimneys with moulded capping. 1:1 windows, mixed casements.
C20 doorway with bracketted (concrete) hood. Lower set-back angled turret to right
(north-west) - the bathroom wing. Lean-to to left (south-east) linking with Mill
House - mid C19, slate roofed, irregular fenestration, small door to left, modern
garage doors to right. Garden front to south-west remodelled, probably following
earlier arrangement, with 3 windows, mullion and transom type.

Ceased working early C20; mill pool and sluices (not included) survive, as does chute
which led water onto overshot wheel.
