SO 90 NE DUNTISBOURNE ABBOTS -

6/42 Jackbarrow Farmhouse

Detached farmhouse. c1780. Coursed and squared rubble limestone;
partly roughcast rendered; ashlar chimneys; stone slate roof.
2-storey with attic; double pile. Front: 2-storey 3-window with
central doorway: doorway has flat stone porch hood on stone
brackets; 6-panel door with upper panels glazed; windows have
deep stone lintels and leaded timber casements; 3-light generally
with 2-light above doorway; 2 roof dormers with leaded casements.
Blank gable ends; single-storey lean-to at west end has 2 small
leaded casements and plank door; chimneys at gable ends are ridge
mounted and have deep chamfered caps, that to back range at west
end is late C20 rebuilt. Back: 4-window fenestration with extra
window openings inserted on ground floor, all with deep stone
lintels and leaded casements; off-centre roof dormer. (A.
