II
Row of two houses including two shops. Mid-late C17; C19
restoration. Random rubble limestone; ashlar chimneys; stone
slate roof. Two-storey with various rear additions; single-storey
shop at north end. Front: 5 irregularly spaced half gables with
inverted stone cresting at junction between ridge and main roof
slope; 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to each,
mostly C19 restored. Mixture of 2 and 3-light casements to ground
floor set below each gable, central shop having door and larger
window under combined timber lintel. Doorway to No 11 has moulded
stone lintel and 4-panel door. C20 shop front inserted in former
outbuilding at north end. Three ridge-mounted chimneys with plain
caps. Built into bank at rear with 2 gabled wings. Interiors not
inspected.
