Formerly barn and shelter sheds, now detached house. Early C19.
Random rubble limestone; ashlar columns to shelter shed; stone
slate roofs. Probably 5-bay barn with east and west porches, east
outshuts and south-facing shelter sheds. Barn: parapet gabled
porch with ball finial; glazing in former doorway. Some inserted
casements in outshuts and to north gable end. Parapet gabled ends
to barn with C20 gabled chimneys. Catslide porch on west side with
glazed infill. Many triangular barn vents, some with tall windows
inserted below, vent forming a triangular head. Shelter shed:
long set of shelter sheds with 11 circular stone columns having
flat capitals and tall cushion-type bases. Interior not inspected
but appears a very skilful conversion of a typical post-enclosure
barn. Local tradition suggests that columns are of Roman origin.
