4/66 Former drinking fountain on green

Former drinking fountain and animal trough in centre of green.
1875. Limestone. Single large trefoil arch with rosettes to each
side in square panels and stone "roof" with dentil fillet and roll
moulding, tapering to carved frieze with row of crockets. Central
plaque dropping through "roof" line inscribed LET HIM / THAT IS
ATHIRST / COME. Semi-circular trough at ground level in front,
small wrought iron "gate" in arch by water pipe.
