3/1 Castle cottage

Detached cottage. Said to be 1712. Random coursed rubble stone,
stone slate roof with 2 stone ridge stacks. Single long range,
single storey and attic. Probably extended on left side, as row of
quoins visible within wall. Central boarded door with timber
lintel, may have been moved from immediately left where there is a
blocked opening below very large stone lintel. Flanking 2-light
wooden casements with timber lintels, that to left with original
lintel. Above are 2 small gabled dormers on eaves. (VCH, Glos.
Vol. VII).
