Former stables with loft and adjoining animal shelter to east, now
converted to dwelling. Mid/late C18. Stable block mostly in
coursed rubble stone with stone slate roof, now stone stack at east
end. Flight of 12 stone steps parallel to building in centre of
block up to loft door under single gable, with kennel hole beneath.
Flanking on ground floor, a single square light on inside and door
on outside, that to left a stable door, all doors and windows of
late C20 conversion. Cowshelter adjoining originally of 5 open
bays and one closed bay adjoining stable, with rubble stone piers,
now glazed in as 2 twin-bay units with central throughway.
Originally part of a farm complex which included Turk's Yard
(q.v.). Aubrey's Barn (q.v.) and barn to north now all
separate.
