8/106 The Lodge to Kempsford Manor
Small detached lodge. Mid C18 with C20 addition to rear. Random
coursed rubble stone, stone slate roof half-hipped at both ends,
single large central stone ridge stack. Single small range, 2
storeys. East end has round stone archway with keystone and plain
vertical battened door, with flattened radial fanlight, and small
round keyed oculus over. Half hip above has ball finial. North
side to road has same small round keyed oculus to left on
first floor and 2 round arched stone windows with keystone to right
on ground floor with paired leaded casements. 2 small gables to
rear with ball finials. Ground floor of rear mostly obscured by
recent C20 lean-to extension, which is not of special interest.
