9/123 Bridge on Thames and Severn Canal
next to Round House


GV II


Bridge carrying track over Thames and Severn Canal (disused) close
to junction with River Thames. Late 1780s/early 1790s. Coursed
and dressed stone. Single round arch approximately 2m above banks
at apex with keystone and voussoirs. Square corner piers, coped
walls sloping up steeply to flat central section forming hump
bridge. Approximately 10m total length and 3.5m wide. Panel set
in on south side with Roman numerals LVIII.
