9/153 Bridge House


Detached house. Late C18, possibly built in 2 stages. Mostly
coursed rubble (changes to rubble could indicate different
building period), stone slate roof with wooden eaves cornice, 3
stone stacks with moulded cornice to left end and to ridge.
Single long range with rear catslide on left side, 2 storeys with
attic in gable ends. Three windows, to each side triple sashes of
4/12/4 panes in cambered stone surrounds with straiqht-headed
central 12-pane sash. Ground floor has 2 similar triple sashes,
and central stone doorcase with open moulded pediment with rosettes
in frieze, pilasters, decorative radial fanlight and half-glazed 4-
panel door with 2 lower flush panels. Small wing of single storey
and attic at an angle to right-hand side, with gabled dormer.
