GV II

Detached house. Early C18, with later extensions to rear probably
of C19. Coursed rubble stone with parapet, hipped stone slate
roof in 2 main sections, 2 large brick stacks. Squarish range,
mostly 2 storeys. Main front to north-east. Three bays to right
have very tall hipped roof with single hipped dormer facing south-
east, left-hand bay has separate lower hipped roof extending
backwards. Four windows, left-hand bay a 12-pane sash, 2 right-
hand bays 2-light stone mullion and transoms and bay to left of
centre with round stone arch and full length margin casements of
C19. Ground floor has 4-pane sash to left, two 2-light stone
mullion and transoms to right, all with continuous dripmould, and
stone doorcase left of centre with open pediment on consoles and
pilasters, painted out decorative radial fanlight and wide half-
glazed door with 2 lower recessed panels. In front of doorcase
and round-arched window is large square 2-storey porch and verandah
with swept lead roof in highly decorative woodwork, round-arched to
ground floor and straight-headed bays above.
