2/64 Grange Farm Cottages

Detached house. Early-mid C17, largely rebuilt early C19. Coursed
squared and dressed limestone more finely dressed on west front,
concrete tile roof, stone stacks, one replaced C20. 'L'-shaped
plan with C19 lean-to at south gable end. Three-storey facade lit
by 2 and 3-light casements within cambered-headed surrounds. Bands
between ground and first floors. Two blocked windows in left wall
of wing. C19 four-panelled door with 2-pane hall light over.
Gable end stacks. Flat gable end coping, roll-cross saddle at apex
of right gable end. Two and 3-light C17 and C19 stone-mullioned
casements, some with double chamfers in right-hand wall and rear
wall. C20 part-glazed door with gabled canopy over in rear wall
towards north gable end. Intersecting beams with moulded stops on
ground floor of wing running away from road. Open fireplace with
stone 'Tudor'-arched surround and inglenook seats either side in
wing parallel to road. Barrel vaulted cellar lit by hollow-
chamfered stone-mullioned window.
