2/65 New Row (Nos 1-6 consecutive)

Terrace of six houses built in pairs stepped down gentle slope.
Dated and initialled 'W.A/1859/I.A' on plaque at first floor level
between Nos 3 and 4. Coursed squared and dressed limestone,
concrete tile roofs, stone stacks heightened in artificial stone.
One, 2 and 3-light flat-chamfered stone-mullioned windows. Double
chamfers to first floor windows. Tracery from upper part of 2-
light window above datestone, rectangular scratch sundial, formerly
with finial, above. C20 part-glazed C18 style door to No. 1 within
C20 artificial stone and weather-boarded gabled porch. C19 plank
doors to Nos 2 and 3, the latter with single-pane inserted at top.
C20 twenty-four panel door to No 4, C20 eight-panel door to No 5,
C20 part-glazed C18 style door to No. 6. Each door within a flat-
chamfered surround with single stone lintels pointed upwards at
centre. Gable end and axial stacks the former projecting slighty
from gable ends.
Interiors not inspected. Once known as 'The Hornets Nest' due to
the quarrelsome nature of the tenants. Terrace forms an important
feature within the village landscape.
