Cassey Compton House

GV II

Barn. Late C18. Coursed squared and dressed limestone, stone
slate roof. Cross-shaped plan. Flat-chamfered plinth. Projecting
gabled porches on east and west each with double width openings and
ventilation slits towards apex of porch gables in side walls and
gable ends. Single width lateral doors (now blocked) in side walls
of porch on west. Blocked single width door in east wall. Two
doorways (now blocked) to basement at south gable end. Stepped
gable end coping and roll-cross saddles.
Interior: 7 bays, original collar and tie beam trusses with double
butt purlins, artificial stone piers supporting ends of tie beams.
