Staple Farmhouse

Barn. Late C18. Random squared limestone, dressed quoins, stone
slate roof. Asymmetrical 'T'-shaped plan to main body with
projecting half-hipped stone porch on south. Lean-to extension
right of porch. Former double doorway to porch blocked with
corrugated plastic and boarding. Double doorway in opposing wall
blocked in similar fashion. Stone steps up to single width plank
door in left-hand wall. Two C20 plank doors to lean-to right of
porch. Ventilation slits in side walls and gable ends. Stepped
gable-end coping with roll-cross saddles. Roof to porch half-
hipped.
Interior: 4 bays with original roof trusses with collar and tie
beams and double butt purlins.
