4/93 The House on the Corner
Formerly several cottages, converted to one house. Mid C18.
Coursed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins, stone slate
roof, stone end stacks with offset. Single main range of 2 storeys
and attic with rear catslide, and additional 2-storey wing to left
with single storey extension to far left. Two windows to main
range, 3-light stone mullions in flush stone surrounds. Same to
left on ground floor, opening on right now blocked. Hipped porch
roof slightly to right of centre with boarded door to left in flush
stone surround and similar blocked stone doorway to right. Two-
storey wing to left has 2-light wood casement below eaves, 3-light
on ground floor with timber lintel and small gabled projecting wing
to front, probably originally an entrance porch to one of the
cottages. On right hand return, 16-pane sash with timber lintel
and flush stone surround, and former loft-level stone doorway, now
window, in rear lean-to, also with timber lintel.
