8/183 House known as Kemble Mill

GV II
Large detached house. Originally probably C17, extended probably
in C18 and in C20. Random coursed rubble stone, stone slate roof,
large stone end stack with offsets. 'L'-shape range, 2 storeys.
East side has 3-light stone mullion with square hoodmould to right
on first and ground floors with decorative leading on first floor,
and longer on ground floor, recessed door to far right of C20.
Two-light casement with timber lintel to left on both floors.
Similar windows to rear wing. North end of oldest section has
single stone framed light to right of stack, probably lighting a
newel stair. Interior not accessible.
