14/214 Stable block at Chapter Manor

GV II
Large stable block with accommodation at west end. Mid C19.
Coursed rubble stone, stone slate roof with half-hipped east end,
partly concrete tile roof to rear. Long range of single storey and
attic. Large projecting gable to left of centre with 3-light
casement on ground floor and half-glazed loft door above with
tiered dove perches in apex and hauling gantry to right. To left,
on west, 2 gabled dormers, central door with 9-pane light above,
and 2-light casement to right. To right of gable, one gabled
dormer, stable door with 9-pane light above, and scattered
fenestration. To far right, garage in possible former cartshed,
and flight of 9 stone steps up to plank loft door.
